Alix Cowie, M.ED., C.PSYCH. ASSOC.
Alix Cowie is a registered psychological associate and holds a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and has trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches including Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-Meditation.
As an Individual and Couple Therapist, Alix takes great pleasure in supporting clients in creating meaningful and lasting changes in their lives and relationships. She provides clients with a safe, warm, caring, and respectful therapeutic environment in order to facilitate deeper exploration of their challenges. Through a collaborative therapeutic process, she works with clients to establish goals, explore issues more deeply, gain insight, find new solutions and implement changes in their lives.
Alix is skilled in working with a variety of presenting issues such as: relational conflict and communication difficulties; emotional injuries and extra-marital affairs; difficulties with intimacy and emotional closeness; depression; self-criticism; anxiety; dealing with stress; psychological trauma; grief; as well as self-esteem issues.
Alix is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the Ontario Psychological Association, and the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy.
